Dallas's Match Group Redefines How Connections Are Made in a Tech-Based World

As the dominant force in the online dating industry, the company's portfolio includes over 45 global brands.

A 2020 Pew Research Center report on online dating found that 30% of U.S. adults have used an online dating app or website at some point in their lives. Of those, 12% said they were able to find a long-term relationship through online dating.

Technology has been used as a tool to forge connections since its advent. What was once perceived as an unconventional way to find love, online dating is now considered a norm in the modern dating culture. With many using the conveniences of a platform to eliminate some of the anxiety or awkwardness associated with the first date experience, online dating users have come to rely on their trusted dating sites as their proverbial "wingman" or "wingwoman."

Online Dating Stats

Online dating is just as popular globally as it is in America. As a multi-billion dollar industry, experts predict the revenue stream for the online dating segment is projected to reach over $3.6 billion in 2022, and demonstrate an annual growth rate (CAGR 2022-2026) of 6.25% or $4.69 billion by 2026.

Additional highlights paint a clear picture of the projected earnings within the industry, as online dating expects to hit 501.7 million users by 2026. Most of the revenue, roughly $828.60 million, will come from Americans.

The technology and platforms associated with online dating will continue to evolve based on the wants and needs of its users. One Dallas-based company is not only dominating the field with an impressive portfolio of products but is redefining the landscape of online dating sites in the process.
