San Antonio Hotel Has Some of the Nation’s Best Restaurants

When looking for an exquisite meal, hotel restaurants are generally the last place that comes to mind. Usually, we opt for a wine and dine experience in a restaurant located in the hottest (and youngest) part of town.

Recently, a San Antonio hotel disproved that notion, as it was featured in Fodor’s travel, "These 11 U.S. Hotels Have Some of the Best Restaurants in the Country," a well-known informative guidebook for hotels and travel.

According to Click 2 Houston, Hotel Emma, located in downtown San Antonio is home to a restaurant called Supper. The city favorite is operated under Chef John Brand’s leadership who is said to style his meals based on “flavor, what’s in season, and what feels good in the center of a table shared by friends.”

The farm-to-table restaurant offers customers a variety of items and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Supper is also open on holidays, featuring special items on the menu.

“Hotels are no longer just for tourists, but a true gathering place for everyone,” Bill Petrella, CEO and General Manager at Hotel Emma said to Fodor’s. “While the definition of luxury has changed, travelers are seeking new, fresh and authentic experiences and are interested in learning about the local culture and getting a feel for the cuisine, people and sense of place.”

While the food is great, the service is said to be even better. Fodor's editors praised the hotel for hiring a full-time culinary concierge, who is in charge of calling guests in advance to ensure their culinary itinerary is set before their arrival.

Hotel Emma has been a monumental part of San Antonio’s Historic Pearl District and was built to accompany the infamous Pearl Brewing Company, which was established in 1883.

The Pearl District now encompasses a wide variety of independently owned restaurants, 23 to be exact. It is also home to the Culinary Institute of America’s (CIA) third campus.

If you are visiting San Antonio for the weekend or have a special occasion coming up, we highly recommend you visit Supper. It sounds like the place to be for San Antonio residents looking to put a twist on a romantic night out or celebratory evening.
