The Tiemann Art Gallery, located at 1706 N. Mays St. in Round Rock, opened in June 2020 and is currently owned and operated by Carrie Tiemann.

Although the art gallery opened recently, it did not come without its share of challenges.

According to Community Impact, Tiemann said the ongoing pandemic has played a huge role in daily operations and has added to the amount of stress that comes with owning a business.

“I was scheduled to move in, and it was the first day of quarantining in Travis County,” Tiemann said. “So, we had to postpone the move-in. As a small business opening ... COVID-19 has made things very difficult.”

Despite facing hardships, the owner said she and her team have worked tirelessly to resume operations and produce a yearly schedule full of live events for the community to enjoy.

Live music, Lectures, date nights, exhibits, and dramatic readings are only a handful of events being put on by the Tiemann Art Gallery. Beyond these live events, the gallery displays a variety of art, comprised of different genres and styles year-round. The art displayed is predominantly made by Texas-based artists, but sometimes stretched beyond the state’s borders.

The gallery is currently located in Round Rock on Mays Street. Seeing as though it is fairly new, it has not become a cultural staple yet. However, Tiemann expressed her hopes for earning that title soon.

“This art gallery is to this community for fine arts and visual arts what Dell Diamond is to this community for sports,” she said. “[It’s] what Kalahari is to this community for family entertainment. That’s how big this could be as an asset for this area.”

The Tiemann Art Gallery also offers custom framing, including canvas stretching, float mounting, shadow boxes, museum glass, and lace-mounted needlework. These services further display the diversity of the gallery and its potential in the Round Rock community.

Community members or those simply passing through are encouraged to make a stop at the Tiemann Art Gallery, where you can not only enjoy original work from Texas Artists but maybe even pick up a custom framing on your way out.
