Every day is an opportunity to celebrate heroes, but TXB took the opportunity to spotlight Texas Heroes on July 24 as part of 24/7 Day to honor first responders, medical personnel, and Red Cross volunteers for their efforts within the Texas and Oklahoma communities they serve. TXB and the NACS Foundation partnered to participate in the nationwide initiative to thank heroes for working 24/7 and served as a part of TXB’s larger community giving initiative, working to give back to the Texans and Oklahomans it serves.

Headquartered in Spicewood, TX, TXB is a family of customer service-oriented convenience stores and food markets that emphasize the Texas roots and values the brand was built upon. TXB offers more than 47 locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma and exercises corporate responsibility by hosting several fundraising events and initiatives throughout the year to support local nonprofits such as CASA and United Way.

TXB CEO Kevin Smart also serves as chairman of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) where he promotes community giving. TXB honored hometown heroes on 24/7 Day by offering private label products, all curated, packaged, and made in Texas, and a free bag of locally sourced TXB jerky, and a free TXB one-liter premium electrolyte water.

This initiative is held annually on July 24 in recognition of doctors, nurses, EMTs, police officers, sheriffs, highway patrol, border patrol, 911 dispatchers, and American Red Cross volunteers in uniform or with a badge. This year’s initiative was especially poignant as we continue to grapple with the pandemic and its devastating effects on our communities.

"Especially over this past year, first responders, medical personnel, and volunteers go above and beyond to keep our communities safe and healthy, and we couldn't be more grateful for their service," said Smart. "As one of many TXB community initiatives, we are honored to continue our part in 24/7 Day, and this year's offerings to these incredible individuals is the least we can do to say thank you."
