Updated: Apr 14

Founded in 1943, Boysville, Inc provides a safe home for neglected children in Bexar County.

From the Editor: Boysville, Inc currently serves 290 children in 2022. The organization cares for children at an average length of 207 days, with daily costs per child being $143.58. We welcome our audience to nominate Boysville in Ancira's Big Giveaway where the organization can win an additional $100,000 in funding for this year.

TXi had the pleasure of attending the Annual Tri-County Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing at the TPC Golf Course where they feature one amazing organization. This year, Boysville was the selected organization. We spoke with Beth Green, the Director of Development at Boysville.

Children Don’t Belong in a Park; They Belong in a Home

Boysville is a nonprofit organization that provides housing for children across San Antonio. Boysville Children’s Home and Shelter, the Home with a Heart, was founded in 1943 as a result of Rev. Don Holiman’s observation of orphaned, homeless, and abandoned boys sleeping in San Antonio’s Travis Park.

Today, they provide a continuum of trauma-informed services and care for children and caregivers affected by abuse, neglect, and family crisis.
