UTD Brings Research to Innovation Quarter in Richardson

Innovation is our bread and butter at Texas Innovators; being in a state this big, there is so much potential for startups and all types of businesses to thrive.

Texas ranks in the top three states in the country for innovation; with large cities like San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and Austin all becoming innovative hotbeds, smaller communities are beginning to follow this trend.

The city of Richardson is partnering with The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) to open research centers in the Innovation Quarter of Richardson.

The city of Richardson and UT Dallas have long had a deeply intertwined, mutually beneficial relationship focused on tech-oriented research, business innovation, and training of bright minds,” UTD President Richard C. Benson said. “With this announcement, we are proud to bring teams from across the university’s eight schools to be deeply, directly engaged in the Richardson IQ for years to come.”

UTD plans to implement Applied Artificial Intelligence, Surgical Innovation, and more throughout five new research centers in the Innovation Quarter. As of now, the building is set to open in 2022.
